Weekly 'Best of' the Wonder Community
Each week, the Wonder staff will post the exclusive events, findings, and updates from across the community.
I recently joined one of your online sessions. I was told that at the moment wonder is free and to ask before the event to arrange our free event if this had changed. Can I please check that the event we have arranged for the April 2nd is still free of charge? May I also ask please when you create your space link, can this be sent around 2 day before the event to everyone please?
Hey, hey,In this chapter of the Community, I want to highlight my fellow CX Ninja as well as my favorite colleague (don’t tell the others) @WonderMichael in his interview on how to build a virtual community. Some sneak peeks: It’s unnecessary to reinvent the wheel Go with the flow Take your code of conduct seriously Resist the urge to go for the easiest wins Now over to you all: what do you think it takes to build a virtual community? Have you built one yourself or are currently a part of one? There are no right or wrong answers (or are there!).Until next time,@Wonder-ful_Andrew
Hey all, 👋After a bit of a hiatus, I’m back and have missed you all terribly 😃We just wanted to give a quick shout-up to @Maja for hosting an event on how to have efficient meetings and we’re thrilled with the turn-out, engagement, seeing familiar faces, all of it! I’m looking forward to engaging with you all on here again, posting some new topics, sending some invitations (sounding mysterious like @WonderMichael), and a whole load of other surprises! Let’s keep this wonderful community going and growing! As always, the best is yet to come. 😉Keep wondering,Andrew
While the meteorologist and astrologist may argue on when autumn starts, it’s officially Fall for Wonder and we are kicking it off with a bang! Join us TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 21 for a LIVE workshop on running the best meetings possible with our very own @Maja. Maja’s role as a key researcher here at Wonder mixed with her background in improvisation makes for a one of a kind presentation on what makes meetings matter. We love a good laugh, and luckily for us, we are often our own source material. Submit your own meme for a cash prize here. See you soon!Michael and @Wonder-ful_Andrew
Big news:The future is now. Our beta is now open, only available to community members. Join the fun here. I don’t think anyone loves our Wonder users more than @Wonder-ful_Andrew, but our User Researcher Extraordinaire @Maja gets a close second Maja is currently looking to talk to you, yes you! Find out more here. But why are we even building community? Until next week!
For experienced users Wonder is most intuitive. What we find in practise, however, that moving around, using the zoom function and chatting with people in the proximity, is not very clear for people who come to the platform for the first time. Obviously, technical problems can prevent easy access, but more in general: how can we make this onboarding process easier? What we are doing so far:making the platform introduction part of the program at the start of the meeting (yet I feel technology should take as little time as possible and support interaction rather than be the topic of interaction) providing a test environment (yet it is way more difficult to grasp what Wonder is about when you are in a space by yourself)Does any one have any other ideas, clever, practical and/or playful onboardingwork-arounds?
Hello Wonder-ers, Wonder-inos, (or my personal favorite), Wonder-ites.Our beta is in full swing! The next round of features are live! check out the new broadcast and chat modules in the newly designed Wonder rooms: ALL THE FUN HERE. Coming on Wednesday: the new ice-breaker! Video Conference Faux Pas. (‘Faux Pas’ is French for “massive mistakes made while video conferencing). Submit your own original meme and win some CASH! We love our teachers! Meet others, share ideas, prototype some classroom dynamics!
Was that clever with you, us, and It?! Maybe not, but I made myself chuckle 😄You: The community has been live for officially 3 weeks now and we couldn’t be happier. The conversations, engagements, laughs, bad jokes (mostly from me), and sweet feature requests are overwhelming! We want to have a Wonder Talk to talk about you! Us: @simekjb posed a really great question about what we (the Wonder staff) like most about working for Wonder. Some of the answers might surprise you! 🤯 It: At Wonder, we decided that we like to call all of us Wonderers. But we asked you! Let’s keep the list going; top 3-5 will be made into a poll for you all to choose! ⚡️Until next time!
Hello Beloved Wonders,During the pandemic our team relied upon a few essential softwares that helped me get good work done. But as we switch back to in-person/online hybrids I find myself needing to rid myself of a few extras and fill a few holes. Are there any softwares you can suggest centered around project management or creative work that really shine? Any you don’t need anymore?HELP
It’s pretty sudden when the presenter stops speaking, you don’t get any notice, the screen returns back to any groups you were in and the video turns back on (having been off before so you might have got used to it being off). This could be jarring because at any moment your camera could turn back on under Wonder’s control if it was on before (or does it even if it wasn’t)?Can it leave it in the state it was and warn you or just pop up a suggestion to enable it again?
I’d like to hold an end or academic year social event for my students - all over the world, so timing will be ‘interesting’ I’d also like to in some way have the tutors I’d like there identifiable as tutors Amy ideas very welcome - it’ll be BYO of course
I had this idea of ‘Circle of one’, but have no idea what added value this could bring. I hope the title inspires you to come up with some neat ideas. I’m happy to read them in the comments.I thought of a cultural event where e.g. a poet reads his/her poetry and where you can listen to just by hovering over that person. Don’t know if that makes sense, but it doesn’t hinder the poet of continuing reading.
